Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast

Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast has been a Boulder tradition since 1941. Crowds of thousands gather each year at CU’s Folsom Field to enjoy Boulder’s largest fireworks display and local entertainment and of course, Ralphie. Dead & Company at Folsom Field

Quickly becoming an annual tradition, Boulder will be hosting Dead & Company at Folsom Field once again this summer for two nights. Dead & Company was formed in 2015 when the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir joined forces with artist and musician John Mayer, Allman Brothers’ bassist Oteil Burbridge, and Fare Thee Well and RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti. Bands on the Bricks

From oldies to alternative and everything in between, Bands on the Bricks is Boulder County’s premier outdoor summer concert series taking place in the heart of the city on the bricks of the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall. A not-to-be-missed summer tradition with 10 weeks of free concerts. Enjoy performances from the best local musicians along the front range while dancing under the stars. Free Sunday at Museum of Boulder

The Museum of Boulder is offering a free day at the museum on Sunday, July 7th. Check out the Boulder Experience Gallery (2nd Floor Gallery) showcasing the history of Boulder, and A-MAZE-D (lower level) featuring a giant cardboard maze for all ages, and Pack-It-Up (Main Gallery) to explore real stories of voyages from Boulder’s past and present. The Google Garage makerspace will have volunteers to help visitors tinker and create. Enjoy fabulous views of downtown and the flatirons from the rooftop deck.

Rose Hill Drive Plays Led Zeppelin at Fox Theatre

After being named one of Rolling Stone’s top 10 artists to watch, releasing 3 studio albums, and spending 6 straight years in a van touring the world and opening for acts such as The Who and Van Halen, Boulder, CO based Rock band Rose Hill Drive decided to take a break. Tube to Work Day

Boulder’s annual aquatic commute, Tube to Work Day is keeping Boulder fun. Get caught in Boulder’s weirdest traffic jam (you won’t regret it). Free breakfast party, live music, awards for best tube/costume, streamside DJ and bacon fishing from above. Helmet and close-toed shows mandatory, as isregistration (but the event is FREE). Bring your own tube!

Longmont is once again hosting Rhythm on the River to celebrate the environment, the community, art and music. The weekend festival includes Roger’s River Run 5K, The Greenway Glow, and the Kinetics Parade as well as many local food and beverage vendors. Friday’s Grove Stage musical highlights include Taylor Shae Music, Stillhouse Junkies, The Burroughs, and Saturday night’s guests include Clandestine Amigo, The River Arkansas and Buckstein. The Sunset Stage will feature emerging artists that have been recognized for their talents in 303 magazine, Best of Boulder and Denver’s Best: Redamancy, Card Catalog, Tenth Mountain Division, One Flew West, Jake Edwards and Company and Write Minded. Along with popular favorites, the adventure area will feature an amazing Ninja Warrior Wall and gyroscope ride.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival was founded in 1958 and is still going strong. Held every summer at the picturesque Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre and the indoor University Theatre on the University of Colorado Boulder campus, this festival is consistently among the most critically acclaimed of its kind in the nation. CSF’s award-winning education program also presents classes, workshops and camps for all ages throughout the year. This summer’s performances include Twelfth Night, As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, King John and Mike Bartlett’s King Charles III.

Boulder Concert Band’s Concerts in the Park

The Boulder Parks and Recreation Department partners with the Boulder Concert Band to provide Concerts in the Park. The Boulder Concert Band is composed of volunteer musicians from Boulder and surrounding communities. The BCB provides our community with outstanding performances of traditional and modern concert literature and enriches the cultural experience of the audience and the musicians. Erie Movie in the Park

Bring your family, friends, blanket or lawn chair and join the Town of Erie Parks & Recreation Department for a movie in the park this July. See the family-friendly Ralph Breaks the Internet! There will be fun themed activities or a craft prior to the start of each movie. Movies will begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) on the Civic Green at the Erie Community Park. Summer of Discovery: Bicycle Rodeo




When: Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 1:30 – 2:30 PM
Boulder Police Officers will be hosting children 12 and under at the Meadows Branch Library to learn about bicycle safety at the Bicycle Rodeo. There will be a road skills course, helmet fits, and bike safety inspections. Participants need to bring their bike and safety gear and will need to be accompanied by an adult to sign a release and waiver form. For all the details, click here.

Pearl Street Arts Fest

From whimsical and modern sculptures to traditional watercolors and oils & more, Pearl Street Arts Fest is a beautiful outdoor gallery nestled in the heart of downtown Boulder on the renowned Pearl Street Mall. Artists will travel from all over Colorado and more than 20 other U.S. states to exhibit and sell pieces to experienced collectors, as well as enthusiastic newcomers. Estes Park SnowyGrass Music Festival

The SnowyGrass Music Festival in Estes Park is back with amazing local and national bluegrass bands including The Jamesons Duo & special guests, KC Groves and Dusty Rider, Pete Wernick of Hot Rize, Joan Wernick, Hunker Down, Wood & Wire, Dahlby & Nadine, Jason Hicks & KC Groves, Ran Off The Rooster, The Cody Sisters, and Pete & Joan Wernick. The Blue Canyon Boys, winners of the 2008 Telluride Bluegrass Festival band contest, will be the main event. Children’s activities, local food trucks and vendors will also be offered.

Meadow Music

A Boulder tradition for families in the summer! Join the musical duo Jeff and Paige for evenings of children’s music and nature education. The evening consists of a short hike, followed by 45 minutes of nature music at the foot of the Flatirons. Sponsored by City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks Division Meadow Music is an award-winning environmental education program at Chautauqua Green in Boulder, Colorado.! The event begins at 5:30 with a short hike that’s friendly to all ages (please arrive early to find a place to put your picnic blanket before the hike). After the hike, the group returns to Chautauqua Green for a concert full of original nature and science-based music by Jeff and Paige. The concert starts around 6:00 PM and ends by about 7:00 PM. Bring a blanket to sit on, a picnic and some silliness!

47th RockyGrass Festival

Every year in late July, Lyons becomes the center of the bluegrass universe as generations of legends and future-legends and Festivarians converge under the red rock cliffs of the St. Vrain River at Planet Bluegrass for RockyGrass. This year’s preliminary lineup includes Sam Bush Bluegrass Band, Punch Brothers Play & Sing Bluegrass, Soggy Bottom Boys and many more. 2019 Boulder Taco Fest
