Boulder County’s kickoff to summer, the Boulder Creek Festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food and entertainment unique to the Boulder community. The festival is free to the public and features something for everyone: 9 separate event areas with 500 vendors showcase everything from community arts and crafts to healthier alternatives and technology while 3 performance stages feature a spectrum of music and dance. The festival also features carnival rides and food and beverage vendors.
Tinker Time Drop in Art Class


When: Saturday, May 27
Where: Tinker Art Studio, 1300 Yellow Pine Ave. #B, Boulder, CO 80304
Time: 10AM – 12PM
Cost: $12 – first hour, $6 – each additional half hour per child
Ages: 18 months – 12 years
Tinker Time at Tinker Art Studio is an opportunity for children to engage in art exploration. The studio offers several stations set up with a variety of materials as well as ideas and techniques for use of materials are offered. Children have complete creative control and enjoy moving freely between stations. Paints, oil pastels, clay, print making, wire and wood sculpture, stamping, cut paper collage… are some of the mediums found during Tinker Time.
Parents can drop off their artist off anytime during Tinker Time to run a few errands, take a break at the coffee shop, or stay at Tinker watching their artist at work. All ages are welcome, but if your child is under 4, we ask that a parent or caregiver remain with them in the studio. Tinker Time is limited to 16 students, so if you want to be guaranteed a spot, it’s highly encouraged that you reserve a space in advance.
Ride the Rails – Colorado Railroad Museum

Cost: Museum Admission: $5 Kids, $10 Adults, $8 Seniors, Kids under 2 are free
Rides: Kids (2-15) $2, Adults $4, Museum Members receive a $1 discount

Catch a ride behind one of the Colorado Railroad Museum’s steam or diesel locomotives in passenger cars from different eras in Colorado railroad history or on one of the unique Rio Grande Southern “Galloping Goose” Motorcars. Tickets are available for purchase at the door, no reservations required.
Wildflower Hike at Bald Mountain
When: Sunday, May 28
Where: Bald Mountain, 4241 Sunshine Canyon Dr
Time: 12 PM

Join volunteer naturalists for a spring Wildflower Hike at Bald Mountain, in the beautiful foothills west of Boulder. Expect to hike about 1.5-miles through forest and meadows in search of spring wildflowers, enjoying some beautiful vistas along the way.
Free Family Fun Fest & Car Show
When: Sunday, May 28
Where: Broomfield Plaza, 5015 W 120th Ave, Broomfield, Colorado 80020
Time: 10AM – 2PM
Cost: Free
Ages: All ages
Celebrate Memorial Day weekend with a Free Family Fun Fest at Broomfield Plaza (120th and Sheridan). Enjoy games, train rides, face painting, balloon animals, attractions and more! In addition, the festival will host a car show from Crusin’ Productions.
BolderBOULDER


When: Monday, May 29
Where: Race begins at Walnut & 30th, Ends at Folsom Field. Click here for full race map.
Time: Races happen in waves, starting between 7AM – 9:20 AM
Cost: To Participate: $35 – $100/ per person
Ages: All ages welcome, no strollers allowed in the race itself.
BolderBOULDER is one of the largest and most highly acclaimed 10K’s in the world. Whether you want to run or enjoy watching, BolderBOULDER is a ton of fun!
