Halloween isn’t just for kids! Halloween is two weeks away and there are a ton of great Halloween things to see, do and experience right here in the Boulder area. Crawl the mall, attend a masquerade, view elaborate displays, check out a local haunted house and MORE. Here is a list of fun Halloween events for adults in the Boulder Area!
#1 The Boulder Mall Crawl
When: Traditionally held the Saturday Night before Halloween, watch for event details here.
The Mall Crawl is Boulder’s Halloween tradition where ghastly ghouls crawl Pearl Street Mall and revel in Mall Crawl’s magic. This is a free, unorganized event that goes back to the 1980s. Wear a costume, bring a friend! And keep an eye out for the Thriller Dance. The Boulder Mall Crawl is held on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. The event is FREE.
#2 Halloween Motown Prom with Hazel Miller and ANMHE 8-piece Band
When: Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 7:30 PM
It’s Prom Night in 1960’s Boulder and the warehouse is haunted with the music of Motown and Stax Records. Journey back in time and enjoy Prom with your new crush, or crash the party as a ghost, ghoul, or some other costumed persona who can’t resist the call of classic soul. Dress up, sing, and dance to these classic songs – the night is haunted but the dance floor is alive! Live performance by Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (A Motown Stax Revue) featuring Hazel Miller on vocals. All ages. Cash bar. #3 The Frightmare Compound

Colorado’s oldest haunted house, The Frightmare Compound is sure to terrorize even the bravest of souls. Located in the Broomfield/Westminster area, Frightmare is a true house of horror featuring a clown house, frightful farm and creepy ambiance. Visit this world famous haunted house by October 31 or, for an extra thrill, check our the Lights Out Event happening November 5 & 6, where you can experience the terror in total darkness. #4 Anderson Farms Terror in the Corn

Anderson Farms is hosting its annual Fall Festival, complete with a pumpkin patch, hayrides and so much more! Admission includes a ton of fun activities such as Colorado’s longest-running 30-acre corn maze, hayride to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin launching, mine cars, barrel train, farm animals, farm lights and so much more. New this year: giant jump pads and a combine “playground” with six slides! Click here for a full list of activities. For those who enjoy a fright, after dark Anderson Farms hosts Zombie Paintball Hunt, a unique paintball experience where you shoot zombies throughout the cornfield (but don’t worry, you won’t get shot!) while riding on a zombie wagon. #5 The Shining Ball 2021

Come one, come all to The Shining Ball! Don’t miss the most epic Halloween party that has become a Stanley family tradition. Don your best costume or dress to the nines, this costume party is one you won’t want to miss! There will be a costume contest with epic prizes including a weekend concert package to The Crystal Ball on New Years Eve at The Stanley Hotel, Private Tour and Tasting at Spirit Hound Distillery, tickets to Aiden Sinclair’s Underground, bottles of Spirit Hound Whiskey, and more. There’s no better way to celebrate all-hallows-eve than in our beautiful, antiquated concert hall.
The Widow’s Bane will be headlining with special guests Arthur Lee Land & Friends. This show at The Stanley Hotel should serve as a reprieve from reality, with hints of the classic film, The Shining. #6 Dracula: The Death of Nosferatu

The Gothic classic, Dracula: The Death of Nosferatu, tells the complete story of the romantic monster from the Carpathian Mountains near the Borgo Pass. The action is continuous and the excitement is nonstop after Van Helsing’s entrance at the opening. The old professor has come to the aid of his friend and student, Dr. Seward, at Whitby Asylum in England. Mina Murray is suffering from a mysterious ailment which threatens to postpone her marriage to Jonathan Harker. Van Helsing has come fresh from scientific detective work in London investigating a frighteningly similar case. Very soon the beast joins them, and he is most serious about his plans for Mina. But the unholy vampire has met his final match in Van Helsing and friends.
#7 Pumpkins & Pilsners
When: October 9, 2021 from 11 AM – 6 PM
FREE, and super FUN Fall Festival with activities and entertainment for all ages. The perfect place to pick your pumpkins with live music and craft beer for the adults, as well as games, air tattoos and more. Bring the whole family and plan a fall outing around this great Estes Park Festival & Fundraiser! Enjoy additional free children’s activities like pony rides, strider course & bike skills (bikes and helmets provided), air tattoos, balloon twisting and giant lawn games. #8 Halloween Drive-In Movie
When: October 28 & 29, 2021 from 5:30 – 11 PM
The City of Boulder will select four movies (two children’s themed movies and two adult themed movies) for the drive in on Oct. 28 and 29 at Flatirons Golf Course.
#9 Eerie Erie (5k or 10k)
When: Saturday, October 30, 2021
The world famous Eerie Erie is a Halloween themed 5k and 10k race that runs through historic downtown Erie and takes advantage of our beautiful trail system that weaves along Coal Creek open space areas. Eerie Erie is the primary fundraiser for the Optimist Club of Erie, a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to benefit the children of our community by funding youth specific events, programs and activities throughout the year.
#10 The Motet – Halloween 2021 at Boulder Theater

#11 Devotchka’s Halloween Black Tie Ball
The Stanley Hotel is thrilled to bring back Devotchka this year for the Halloween Black Tie Ball! An intimate Black Tie affair with multiple events throughout the weekend. Devotchka made their Halloween Stanley debut in 2018, bringing their macabre circus carnival with them for one of the most exciting weekends of the year. Now for the third year, Devotchka partners with The Stanley Hotel again this year for their always legendary Halloween performances and featuring aerialists, stilt-walkers, circus folks, pop up performances, a bloody mary bar, late night DJ sets, and more.
#12 Pumpkin Latte & Paint
When: Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 6 – 8 PM
Come to a one day workshop at Firehouse Art Center where you will create an adorable set of 3 wood pumpkin decorations! Enjoy a pumpkin latte and a few snacks while enjoying some time painting. They can be used in your fall décor through Thanksgiving! This class is just for adults because everyone loves to create! Tickets available here.
#13 Boos & Brews 5k at Wibby Brewing
When: October 31, 2021 from 10 AM – 1 PM
Join the Colorado Brewery Running Series for the Boos & Brews Halloween 5k at Wibby Brewing on October 31, beginning at 10 AM for a 5k-ish course that starts and ends at this awesome brewery. Costumes are highly encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for the best male, female, group, and dog costumes! Bring the kids along for the run, as we will have candy buckets with all course volunteers for a unique spin on trick or treating. Our own moon is a familiar beacon in the sky that holds many important stories about the formation of the Earth, human culture, and human technology and space travel. But Earth is not the only planet with a moon – most of the other planets have moons that have a wide variety of interesting characteristics. In the Stars and Creepy Moons program, you will explore the stars and constellations in our night sky before transitioning to learning about Earth’s moon and the variety of other interesting moons in our solar system. Inspired by the legendary Japanese Kabuki play, “Kaidan+: Something Strange and Spectral” features a contemporary update of this chilling tale of revenge, and also journeys to a sinister boarding school in Africa, a desolate riverbank in Latin America, an otherworldly battlefield in Europe, a haunted bridge in Australia, the bleak expanse of the South Pole, and the menacing wilds of Colorado.
