Halloween is nearly here! This month is PACKED with fun, festive, creative Halloween events in the Boulder area. Looking for Halloween events for grown-ups? Growing Gardens Community Harvest Festival

When: October 6, 2021 from 4 – 7 PM

Join Growing Gardens for its FREE fall celebration at the urban farm! Featuring fun activities like pumpkin and face painting, lawn games, dairy goats and more. A bluegrass band will be performing while you enjoy delicious food from local food trucks and grab a drink from the Biergarten. There will also be pumpkins, fall perennials, and Long’s Gardens Iris bulbs for sale! Walk, bus, bike, or carpool and be entered to win an alternative transportation prize. No dogs at this event, please, they might scare the goats. This is a free event with a suggested donation of $5-$10/family. Rain Date: October 13th. Fall Harvest at Sandstone Ranch

When: October 9, 2021 from 10 AM – 1 PM

Enjoy pumpkin painting, crafts, games, music and more from 10am – 1pm, Saturday, October 9 at the Sandstone Ranch Visitors & Learning Center’ Fall Harvest. Fun for all ages! Bring a snack, sunscreen & bug repellent. Please carpool, and use the upper parking lot if possible. Accessible parking near house. $3/person, $10/family suggested donation, collected at event.

Spooky Village at Village at the Peaks

Fall is in the air and one of our favorite ways to celebrate is Spooky Village! This FREE family fun festival is a Halloween event complete with trick or treating at Village at the Peaks merchants. This year’s free activities include: hay rides, craft stations, arm painting, balloon twisting, goblin train rides, portrait stations, caricature artists, carnival games, live entertainment on Village Stage (Beetle Juice performances and Princess Show),and  trick-or-treat bag giveaway (while supplies last). Chuck and Don’s Pet Parade starts at 12:00 PM over at Chuck and Don’s! Bring your pet all dressed up to walk the parade! Professional photographer will be present to capture photos of the pets which will be posted on Facebook as well. Bug-a-Boo at Butterfly Pavilion

When: October 22, 23, 29 & 30, 2021 from 9 AM – 8PM

What better way to spend time with the little ones this Halloween but in a protective, indoor environment with this fun Trick-or-Treating experience among the butterflies and other tiny creatures.  Bug-A-Boo has become a Halloween tradition, especially for families with toddlers as well as underserved communities. The facility is easily walked by kids of all ages, and Butterfly Pavilion’s animals are the perfect way to incorporate some learning around Trick-or-Treating while visiting candy stations throughout the facility.

Boulder Performing Arts Company Presents “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”

When: September 23 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Join us for thrills and chills during the Halloween season as The Star Performers ages 7-13 perform “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, our “G” rated version of Washington Irving’s classic tale takes us to TarryTown where we meet the cowardly school teacher Ichabod Crane. His day is spent teaching the school children and courting the town debutante but as evening approaches he must cross the haunted bridge where it is rumored The Headless Horseman finds his victims. Enjoy the laughs as Ichabod builds up his courage to cross the bridge. If you dare, after our performance, join our cast members to enter the bridge. The performance will be held at Museum of Boulder and your seat is included with standard admission price: $10 per adult, $8 per senior, kids 5-17 $8, kids under 5 are free! Thursday, October 21st seating at 4:15pm. Performances finish at 5:00pm. This is an all age show- -Wear your Halloween costume- -Explore the Museum until closing. Boulder Performing Arts Company LLC has been in business for over 40 years in Boulder under the direction of Pollyanna Demitro. We are a children’s musical theater company located at 4847 East Pearl. We offer classes to children ages 3-13 in singing, acting, dancing and film making. Classes meet weekly with a final performance on stage at the session’s end. Boo! on Briggs Street

The Town of Erie’s Trunk or Treat event has moved downtown and expanded, bring you Boo! on Briggs Street. Trunks will be parked in the parking lots on the southeast corner of Wells and Briggs and the northeast corner of Moffat and Briggs in Erie. Boo! on Briggs Street will feature costume contests (ages 0-8, 9+ ($5) and group/theme ($10).  The night will be capped off with a glow-in-the-dark dance party complete with a professional DJ and complimentary glow-in-the-dark giveaways for the kids. This event is held in Downtown Erie, Briggs Street between Moffat and Wells, Erie, CO 80516. Longmont Halloween Parade

When: October 30, 2021 9:45 AM – 12 PM

Dress up in your Halloween costume on Saturday, Oct. 30, march down Main Street, and visit Downtown participating merchants for Trick or Treat Street immediately following Longmont’s annual Halloween Parade. This event will be held on Main Street in Longmont. This event is FREE. 

Trick or Treat at Broomfield Plaza

Fall is in the air and it’s time for Broomfield Plaza’s spookiest event of the season! Bring all your little ghosts and goblins out to Broomfield Plaza for trick-or-treating and lots of other fun and FREE family activities: arm painting, balloon twisting, goblin train rides, portrait stations, live entertainment and trick-or-treat bag giveaway (while supplies last). The City of Boulder will select four movies (two children’s themed movies and two adult themed movies) for the drive in on Oct. 28 and 29 at Flatirons Golf Course.

Anderson Farms is hosting its annual Fall Festival, complete with a pumpkin patch, hayrides and so much more! Admission includes a ton of fun activities such as Colorado’s longest-running 30-acre corn maze, hayride to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin launching, mine cars, barrel train, farm animals, farm lights and so much more. New this year: giant jump pads and a combine “playground” with six slides! Click here for a full list of activities. For those who enjoy a fright, after dark Anderson Farms hosts Zombie Paintball Hunt, a unique paintball experience where you shoot zombies throughout the cornfield (but don’t worry, you won’t get shot!) while riding on a zombie wagon. Lafayette Fall Festival

The 2021 Lafayette Fall Festival is sure to have something for everyone! Celebrate the season with fun and engaging activities inside the recreation center: pumpkin races, youth activities, an arts and crafts project, glow-stick fun, and STEM fun with pumpkins. Even more fun is awaiting you outside with scarecrow and pumpkin decorating contests. Wrap up the evening by enjoying our holiday-themed cartoons on the big screen in the gymnasium – the corn will be popping! Be sure to get some apple cider and candy before you go! Pumpkin race participation requires pre-registration.

Lyons Halloween Spooktacular

Halloween Boo Bash at Flatiron Crossing

When: October 30, 2021 from 1 -3 PM

Bring the family and celebrate Halloween at Flatiron Crossing at the Halloween Boo Bash on Saturday, October 30, from 1-3pm in the Food Court! The first hour will feature: welcome goodie bags, Halloween show by The Jackman Brothers, spooktacular treasure hunt, balloon twisting, crafts, giveaways, Halloween dance performance by Denver Dance Authority, food & drinks. The second hour will be all about showing off those costumes! Niwot’s Great Pumpkin Party, Parade & Petting Zoo

When: October 30, 2021 from 10 AM – 2 PM

Niwot Real Estate and Niwot Business Association are hosting Niwot’s Great Pumpkin Party! Costume up the kids, bring the kid-friendly dog, and head downtown for the best of small-town trick or treating, the four-minute parade, exhilarating hay rides, and the always-popular petting zoo. Trick or Treat local businesses in both Old Town on 2nd Ave and in Cottonwood Square from 10am to 2pm — but a useful tip is that most of the trick or treating is done before and after the parade, which is at 11:30. Kid-Friendly Haunted House in Estes Park

When: Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 1 – 3 PM (Scary Haunted House on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 – 10 PM)

Held each year at the American Legion to raise funds for their good deeds, the normally very scary haunted house chills things out a bit for the little ones for one day from 1 to 3 PM. They’ll get just the right amount of freaked out and have plenty of time to recover before bedtime. Take a gift of toiletries, gloves or socks for homeless veterans and you’ll receive $2 off the $5 admission. (The full-strength version happens Fridays & Saturdays from 7 to 10 PM.)

Munchkin Masquerade

Munchkin Masquerade on Pearl Street

When: October 31, 2021 from 3 – 6 PM

The Boulder Fall Festivals list wouldn’t be complete without the Munchkin Masquerade! Each year, Downtown Boulder is invaded by thousands of tiny ghosts & goblins, dinosaurs & dragons, fairies & princes, superheroes and animals of every size trick-or-treating along Pearl Street for the Munchkin Masquerade. There will be over 100 places handing out treats along the Pearl Street Mall.  Munchkin Masquerade will be held on the Pearl Street Mall, Pearl St, Boulder, CO 80302Another free thing to do on our list of Halloween Events for Kids in Boulder and Beyond.

Monster Mash Family Show & Talent Show

If Frankenstein’s monster entered himself into a talent show, what would his talent be? Stacking things on his head? Tap dancing to Puttin’ on the Ritz? Juggling body parts? Witness acrobats embody the power and kryptonite of your favorite monsters in the Monster Mash Talent Show. There will be tricks. There will be treats…and oh, yes…there will be costumes. Downtown Estes Park Halloween Kids Fest

Head down to downtown Estes Park for the Halloween Kids Fest! Estes Park closes down Elkhorn Ave. (main street) at 5:30 PM on Halloween and the entire community is invited to a hauntingly good time! Characters go door-to-door among the shops to get their bags filled with candy. There’s a haunted ambulance, unique Halloween window displays, a Thriller zombie dance in the main intersection and tons of fun is had by all!
