Museum of Boulder Building Dedication & Block Party

Visit the brand new Museum of Boulder for its Building Dedication and Block Party! The Block Party will take place in the parking lot from 1-3PM with musical performances, kids activities, historical photo booth, community art projects and more. Performances by: Block 1750, Kids House of Joy, Gabriel Angelo and Samba Colorado. Building Dedication + Ribbon Cutting at 2PM. The Building will open to the public at 2:30PM. All are invited to come in and check out the museum’s exhibits for free: Da Vinci Machines, Sportsology, Discover NASA and the spectacular view from the rooftop patio.
Boulder Ballet’s Performance of Giselle

The Boulder Ballet will be performing one of the oldest continuously performed ballets, Giselle at the Dairy Arts Center. Giselle is about a peasant girl who dies of a broken heart after discovering her lover is betrothed to another. The Wilis, a group of supernatural women who dance men to death, summon Giselle from her grave. They target her lover for death, but Giselle’s great love frees him from their grasp. Music by French composer Adolphe Adam (1806-1856). Choreography after Marius Petipa.

5th Annual Upslope Get Down

Erie Town Fair and Balloon Festival

22nd Annual Erie Town Fair and Balloon Festival hosts over 200 craft and food vendors; performances on stage at Coal Creek Ball Park offer a variety of entertainment by local groups, carnival games and hot air balloons. Hot air balloons launch at 6:15 am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Colorado National Golf Club, 2700 Vista Parkway, Erie. Hot Air Balloon Launch for Saturday has been cancelled due to weather. The fair will go on as scheduled. Saturday, May 19, the Town Fair will host vendors from 10:00PM – 4:00PM at Coal Creek Park. Garage Rats Car Club will be hosting the Car Show. Don’t miss the fabulous Balloon Glow at 9:15pm, as well as fireworks to conclude the day’s festivities.
Louisville Kids to Park Day 2018

Get out of the house and have some fun with nature activities at Louisville’s Cottonwood Park! Kids will learn about environmental stewardship, learn to use binoculars, and interactive activities such as compass and navigation skills, casting animal tracks, and looking at animal pelts in a nature setting. The goal of Kids to Parks Day is to connect kids of all ages to parks; to enjoy the outdoors, learn from these wonderful outdoor classrooms, and instill the importance of stewardship. Kids to Parks Day engages parks across the country including local, state and national parks, and public lands and waters.

Boulder Public Library‘s BLDG 1 Makerspace is offering a rigid heddle looms & spinning wheels class with expert weaver Stephanie Flynn-Sokolov. In addition, there will be a make-and-take project weaving yarn on upcycled bike parts. BLDG 61 will provide materials and overview, feel free to bring your own looms or projects for consultation and technique tips. Tee Off for Teagan II in Louisville

Golf for a great cause at the 2nd Annual Tee Off for Teagan! This family-friendly outing will include giveaways, a raffle drawing, contests (and prizes!) for closest to Teagan (a target sign), longest drive, and closest to the hole. Trophies to be awarded in kid (12 + under) and adult categories. No golfing knowledge or experience needed to participate! Kids clubs are provided and everyone is invited to come and hit a few balls around the driving range and putting green. To compete: $10/3 balls, $15/6 balls. Raffle tickets for $5 – must be present to win (prize packs, golf accessories, museum tickets, and up to $100 in gift certificates to Sweet Spot Cafe).
