Lots of fun stuff to do with the family this weekend! Boulder Ballet will be aweing us with amazing performances, CATS gym will entertain the kids while parents get a much-deserved night out, or take the family ice skating, painting and so much more! Happening this weekend in and around Boulder.

Boulder Ballet’s 2018 Stepping Out

World premiere contemporary works performed by Boulder Ballet’s professional company, to live music. This season’s production of Stepping Out will again feature the “highly successful collaboration of original experimental music, stimulating choreography, and company dancer input and improvisation” (Jane Werle, Presenting Denver) that was the hallmark of the 2017 show. Michael Schulze, Teaching Associate Professor, Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, is returning in 2018 to compose a new piece of electronic music and collaborate with Amy Earnest and dancer/Associate Artistic Director Lance Hardin as choreographers.

The CATS Optional Team is excited to host it’s Parents’ Night Out event! Join CATS for an awesome night of crafts, games, bungees, open gym, and a pg holiday movie while parents enjoy a night out. All of the proceeds from the night will be put toward travel expenses for the team.

Bring your yoga mats and head to Lucky Weather Ranch for some yoga, and goats! We hope you’re ready for fun!! You’ve heard about us, read about us and probably seen us on the local news. Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga is sweeping the Rockies with the best Goat Yoga events in Colorado! This family friendly & super fun activity has been sweeping the nation. The event begins with a 45 minute goat yoga lesson and end with a 15 minute decompression for time with the goats. The guests can pet the goats, hold the goats and just spend time loving the gift of these cute and innocent animals.

Come meet Byron the Caterpillar Who Loves to Imagine! There will be fun, treats, crafts, face painting, book readings, and raffles! Learn about The Imagine Project, Inc., a literacy-based social emotional program that helps kids through expressive writing.

 

Saturday Tinker Time

Cost: $12/hr, per child or $55 for a 5-hour tinker time card

Ages: 18 months – 12 years

Tinker Time is an opportunity for children to engage in art exploration at Tinker Art Studio. Several stations are set up with a variety of materials, and ideas and technique for use of materials are offered, but children have complete creative control and enjoy moving freely between stations. Paints, oil pastels, air dry clay, printmaking, fabrics and yarn, wire and wood sculpture, stamping, cut paper collage… are some of the mediums found during Tinker Time. For more info, click here.

Pull on your legwarmers, banana clips and neon for a flashback to the 80’s at the 80’s on Ice Rec Skate. Expect all 80’s music and a disco ball too! All proceeds benefit the YMCA Community Support Campaign, which helps families in need access Y programs including sports, swim lessons, summer camps, after school care and more.
