Memorial Day weekend is upon us! Boulder is welcoming the summer season with a hot, sunny weekend full of outdoor events and fun activities for the kids. Enjoy!

Boulder Creek Festival

Where: Boulder along the Boulder Creek corridor, extending from Broadway to 14th Street (west to east), between Canyon Blvd. and Arapahoe Ave. (north and south) Click here for a detailed map.

Cost: FREE

For over thirty years, the Boulder Creek Festival® has been the unofficial kickoff to summer in Boulder. The Memorial Day weekend festival includes three days of festivities featuring a large variety of events, activities, food and entertainment unique to the Boulder community. Featuring nine separate event areas with 500 vendors showcasing everything from community arts and crafts to healthier alternatives and technology while a spectrum of music and dance is performed on three performance stages. The festival also features carnival rides and food and beverage vendors.

This Saturday is the Grand Opening of The Great Outdoors Waterpark in Lafayette! Plunge down the thrilling 21-foot high double flume slides. Guests 48” tall and brave enough to conquer the twists and turns galore are invited to venture down. Perching high atop the fully accessible, zero-depth entry leisure pool, The Grand Eagle Dump Bucket spills water every few minutes near play structures perfect for smaller children.

Native Bees for Youngsters

In this hands-on, super-fun class, Native Bees For Youngsters, children and parents learn together about native bees at Harlequin’s Gardens in Boulder. Jessica Goldstrohm will introduce you to our native bee species and their habitat needs. Your child will build a Leaf Cutter Bee House to take home and sing the new Bumble Bee song. Hungry Honey Bee book & seeds available for purchase.

Longmont Fire Station 5 will host an Open House this weekend! The event is all about the kids and summer safety with fire equipment and activities. On site will also be child car seat technicians to check your installations.

Mountain Flower Goat Dairy is hosting Free Public Visiting Hours this Saturday! Activities include petting goats, meeting the farmers, a tour of the farm, walking goats on leashes, watching a goat-milking demonstration, tasting milk… and you may even have the chance to bottle feed the babies!
