Help One Tree Planted plant 7,000 trees this Earth Day weekend! The Fourmile Fire in 2010 burned 160 homes and left whole mountainsides scorched and without vegetation. Mountainous areas that experience wildfire are prone to flooding and landslides in the subsequent years, and that is exactly what has happened in Fourmile Canyon. Planting trees and revegetating helps stabilize the soils on steep slopes, improves habitat, and contributes to improved water quality in the rivers. At this tree planting event, please bring gardening gloves and a shovel if you can, if not there will be gloves and shovels on site but it helps if you can bring your own. Also recommended: a bottle of water, a hat and/or sunscreen, comfortable shoes, good vibes, AND a tote bag to carry the saplings. For more info, click here.
