2019 Community Harvest Festival

When: Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 4PM – 7PM

Join Growing Gardens for a FREE fall celebration! This Community Harvest Festival will feature fun activities like pumpkin and face painting, a bubble machine, lawn games and more. There will be a live bluegrass band, a Biergarten and several food trucks. No dogs at this event, please, they might scare the goats.

Growing Gardens is located at 1630 Hawthorn Ave, Boulder, CO 80304. This is a free event with a suggested donation of $5-$10/family.

Boulder Tango Festival 2019

NoBo Art District First Friday Art Walk

NoBo Art District’s First Friday is a FREE self-guided tour of artists’ studios and creative businesses in the NoBo Art District. Meet painters, sculptors, photographers, designers and other artists along your stroll through the area.  Attendees will also enjoy live music, demos and special activities in many locations. Located along Broadway from Pine Street to Highway 36.  Follow the polka dots and pink flags to find surprises around every corner. Guided walking tours led by a NoBo Art District member. will visit 4-5 NoBo artists in their studios at 6:30 pm at 4635 Broadway, ACE Community Art Gallery. Visit the NoBo Information Tent in front of Ace Community Art Gallery, 4635 Broadway for a map of the studios open for First Friday and for answers to any questions.

2nd Annual Boulder Music Festival

Check out the 2nd annual Boulder Music Festival featuring performances by Gasoline Lollipops, DeadPhish Orchestra, Chris Karns (Pretty Lights), DJ Abilities, Banshee Tree, Valerie Molano and more. Cocktails, food Trucks, belly dance performance, surreal laser show, graffiti wall, magicians, body painting and more. Details here.

Erie Miner’s Blast

When: Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 12 PM – 4 PM

The Town of Erie‘s Miner’s Blast features activities for the children, more crafts, more “treasures”, more equipment for Touch-A-Truck! Tickets will be sold at the entrance and will allow everyone the opportunity to get scared inside the haunted house, ride the hayride, get lost in the maze and much more. Every child receives a complimentary pumpkin. In addition to fun kids activities, adults will love the seasonal food vendors and beer garden, stroll down the streets filled with spectacular vintage cars at the annual Garage Rats Car Show and visit the petting zoo! Live music from 12:00-4:00pm featuring Center for Musical Arts Jazz Trio directed by Steve Christopher and ENERJAZZ.

Paws in the Park

The annual Paws in the Park will be held once again at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. Grab your friends and family and join the Longmont Humane Society for its annual walk through beautiful Rogers Grove followed by an entertaining pet-friendly festival, all to benefit the animals in need at the Longmont Humane Society.

Boulder Farmers Market

When: Saturdays, April 6 – November 23, 2019 8 AM – 2 PM & Wednesdays, May 1 – October 2, 2019 4 PM – 8 PM

Offering fresh fruit, flowers, veggies and delicious edibles, the Boulder Farmers’ Market provides a place for locals to sell their products in a friendly, fun environment. Twice a week, residents and visitors can fill their bags with goodies.

Cold War Kids with Slow Caves at Boulder Theater

The Cold War Kids will be making a stop at the Boulder Theater during their nationwide tour this October. Slow Caves will be opening.

Dia de los Muertos Exhibition Opening

When: Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 6PM – 8PM

Sponsored by the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Longmont Museum is proud to showcase an exploration of the iconic female figure known as La Catrina. One of Día de los Muertos’ most recognizable icons, La Catrina was born out of Mexican social satire depicting the upper classes and is still seen today in celebration of the holiday. Experience this rich history and iconography through colorful calaca (skeleton) sculptures created by artist Ricardo Soltero. Altars for the dead created by community members are also a central part of the exhibition. The opening includes a complimentary deluxe nacho bar courtesy of Cyclhops Mexican Cantina and a cash bar. Boulder Indigenous Peoples Day 2019

Honor Indigenous Peoples by attending the 2nd Annual Boulder Valley Indigenous People’s Day Pow Wow and the Inaugural Indigenous Peoples Day Parade. This is a special opportunity to come together and embrace the beauty of indigenous culture and history while honoring the Indigenous ancestors and residents of Boulder Valley. The Indigenous Peoples Day Pow Wow will take place from 12 to 6 pm on October 12th. Organized by the Boulder Valley Indigenous Peoples Day Organizing Committee nonprofit, the Indigenous Peoples Day Pow Wow is a traditional indigenous cultural event and celebration. The Pow Wow will include community dancing, prizes, drumming and more.

Thorne Fall Fest

Looking for something fun and FREE to do with your children on BVSD’s Fall In-service Day on Friday, October 13th? Celebrate the transition into Fall with Thorne Nature Experience at the Sombrero Marsh Environmental Education Center for the Thorne Fall Fest. We will have face-painting, nature explorations around the Sombrero Marsh with Thorne staff, pumpkin decorating, and dancing and singing in rainbow socks with our favorite nature performers Jeff & Paige! Light refreshments provided by in-kind donors, pack a picnic if desired. 10am-11am: Activities including pumpkin decorating, bird-watching, face painting, and nature explorations. 11am-Noon: Concert and dancing by Jeff & Paige. Estes Park Pumpkins & Pilsners

When: Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 11 AM – 6 PM

The Pumpkins and Pilsners Festival has activities and entertainment for all ages, with proceeds going to local non-profit Families for Estes. The festival is the perfect place to pick your pumpkins with live music and craft beer for the adults, as well as games, crafts and a bounce house for the little ones. Enjoy additional free children’s activities like pony rides (free from 1-4pm), face painting, kids art activity booths, bounce house, and giant lawn games. Challenge your friends in the strider mini-bike course (bikes and helmets provided). The pumpkin patch sells pumpkins for only $5 each and you can set them aside in the well-guarded ‘sold’ corral while you enjoy the fun. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each for your chance to win some fabulous prizes! Each year a hand-picked selection of seasonal, local craft beers are on hand. There will also be food vendors and food trucks, as well as live music. More information available here.

Pumpkin Pie Days: Vintage & Antique Market

Pumpkin Pie Days: Vintage & Antique Market will be held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. The market features high-end dealers and collectors of furniture, books, primitives, décor, toys, fine jewelry, costume jewelry, vintage clothing, plus much, much more! The show also includes glass grinder, bake sale, and art show. Admissions and café sales benefit The St. Vrain Historical Society‘s mission of historic preservation and education in the community.

World Singing Day Boulder 2019

TEDxBoulder kicks off their first event of 2018 with the theme Truth & Daring, bringing powerful and inspiring talks to you. TEDxBoulder: Pride & Prejudice is an evening of live presentations focused on ideas worth spreading. These empowering and educational presentations bring thousands of people together to connect in community, arts, technology, and entertainment. Pumpkin Palooza Painting Party

When: Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2 PM – 5 PM 

Color Me Mine is teaming up with Museum of Boulder to host a  Pumpkin Palooza Painting Party. Several varieties of ceramic pumpkins will be available to choose from… like a real pumpkin patch! Cost includes ceramic, plus all supplies, paints, glazing, and firing. All ages.

Boulder Mall Crawl 2019

When: Main Event held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 9 PM, also held Halloween Night 

The Mall Crawl is Boulder’s Halloween tradition where ghastly ghouls crawl Pearl Street Mall and revel in Mall Crawl’s magic. This is a free, unorganized event that goes back to the 1980s. Wear a costume, bring a friend! And keep an eye out for the Thriller Dance.

The Boulder Mall Crawl is held on the Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. The event is FREE.

Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Street

When: Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10 AM

Dress up in your Halloween Costume, for Longmont’s Halloween Parade on Main Street and visit Downtown participating merchants for Trick or Treat Street immediately following the parade. Kids of all ages can be a part of this costume foot parade. No registration is required!  Strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet; no motorized vehicles or large animals. Dogs must be leashed. 9:30AM: Line-up in front of the St. Vrain Memorial Building.10AM: Foot Parade Start.  Come in costume. Route will be lengthy; wagons and strollers recommended.  Enjoy the sounds of local bands interspersed within the parade. Boo! on Briggs Street

The Town of Erie’s Trunk or Treat event has moved downtown and expanded, bring you Boo! on Briggs Street. Trunks will be parked in the parking lots on the southeast corner of Wells and Briggs and the northeast corner of Moffat and Briggs in Erie. Boo! on Briggs Street will feature costume contests (ages 0-8, 9+ ($5) and group/theme ($10).  The night will be capped off with a glow-in-the-dark dance party complete with a professional DJ and complimentary glow-in-the-dark giveaways for the kids.

This event is held in Downtown Erie, Briggs Street between Moffat and Wells, Erie, CO 80516. This event is FREE.

37th Annual Eerie Erie (5k or 10k)

The world famous Eerie Erie is a Halloween themed 5k and 10k race that runs through historic downtown Erie and takes advantage of our beautiful trail system that weaves along Coal Creek open space areas. Eerie Erie is the primary fundraiser for the Optimist Club of Erie, a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to benefit the children of our community by funding youth specific events, programs and activities throughout the year.

Spooky Village is a FREE family fun festival is a Halloween event complete with trick or treating at Village at the Peaks. This year’s free activities include: hay rides, craft stations, face painting, balloon twisting goblin train rides, portrait stations, unicorn carousel, live entertainment and trick-or-treat bag giveaway. Bring the dog to Chuck and Don’s annual Halloween pet parade and photo booth station!

Haunted Library

Drop-in to George R Reynolds Branch Library’s sixth annual Haunted Library! Costumes are encouraged at this family-friendly, not-so-spooky Halloween event. Recommended for ages 10 and under. Spooky activities include creepy crawly critters with Nature’s Educators, spooky songs and stories with Ms. Abby, face painting by Face Fiesta, slime walk (like a cake walk…but with SLIME!), mask decorating and more!

This free event will be held at the George R Reynolds Branch Library, 3595 Table Mesa Dr, Boulder, CO 80305.

Lafayette Fall Festival

The Lafayette Fall Festival combines three community events into one! The festival includes a bounce house & pumpkin decorating contest. Monster Dash 5K, 10K & Kids Races

Check out Louisville’s Halloween race — Monster Dash! Throw on your costume and get ready to run. There will be 2 distance choices, the 5k “Fun Run” is for the entire family to run together (Ages 5 and up)…strollers allowed. The 10k Race is for the bit more serious runners going for a place in their age divisions. Immediately following the 5k and 10k, there will be 3 different races for the “Little Zombies” ranging from 1/4 mile to 1 full mile. For more info, click here.

The Barton Brothers at BDT Stage

Broomfield Spooktacular

You’ll have a hauntingly good time at the Broomfield Recreation Services’ Annual Spooktacular. Come dressed in costume and bring a bag for your goodies. The event will feature carnival games, jumping castles, wagon rides, crafts, entertainment and don’t miss out on the “treat or suite-ing”. Spooktacular is guaranteed to be a treat for kids of all ages!

Nobuntu at Macky Auditorium

Munchkin Masquerade

When: Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 3 PM – 6 PM

Each year, Downtown Boulder is invaded by thousands of tiny ghosts & goblins, dinosaurs & dragons, fairies & princes, superheroes and animals of every size trick-or-treating along Pearl Street for the Munchkin Masquerade. There will be over 100 places handing out treats along the Pearl Street Mall.
