Only two weeks until Halloween! And those two weeks are PACKED with fun, festive, creative Halloween events in the Boulder area. If you are looking for something for big kids and grown-ups, check out this list of Halloween activities for adults. Without further ado, here are 21 Halloween activities and events for kids in the Boulder Area.
#1 Anderson Farms Fall Festival
When: The Fall Festival runs from September 19 – October 31, 2018. Monday – Thursday, 10AM – 6PM, Friday 10AM – 11PM, Saturday 9AM – 11PM, Sunday 9AM – 10PM
Anderson Farms is hosting its annual Fall Festival, complete with a pumpkin patch, hayrides and so much more! Admission includes a ton of fun activities such as Colorado’s longest-running 30-acre corn maze, hayride to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin launching, mine cars, barrel train, farm animals, farm lights and so much more. New this year: giant jump pads and a combine “playground” with six slides! Click here for a full list of activities. For those who enjoy a fright, after dark Anderson Farms hosts Zombie Paintball Hunt, a unique paintball experience where you shoot zombies throughout the cornfield (but don’t worry, you won’t get shot!) while riding on a zombie wagon. #2 Boo Brew Run
When: October 20, 2018 from 10AM -1PM
Rocky Mountain Brew Runs and Front Range Brewing Company is hosting the Boo Brew Run to benefit the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. This flat and fast course will take you along the beautiful winding Coal Creek trail with views of the iconic snowcapped Longs Peak and Boulder Flatirons. Afterward, kick back with a brew, enjoy delicious food and stick around for our fun games and the big costume contest! This “Boo” Brew Run is dog and family friendly, the course is stroller friendly and kids 12 and under run free. More details here.

#3 Elaborate Halloween Display in Thornton Neighborhood
When: Lights are displayed every evening from 7 PM – Midnight throughout October.
The Denning Family displays this creative, multi-faceted Halloween extravaganza in their yard every year! All the props are handmade by Cameron Denning. Themes include Dia de Los Muertos, a witch’s coven, an abandoned carnival and more!
This elaborate display is located at 14709 Detroit Way, Thornton CO 80602. Viewing the display is always FREE.
#4 Westminster Halloween Harvest Festival
When: October 20, 2018, from 12 PM – 8 PM
Mark your calendars for Westminster’s new and improved Halloween Harvest Festival! This FREE, family-friendly event is bigger and better than ever because this year, it will now be combined with another one of Westminster’s signature events—the annual Westy Fest that is usually held each August. Bring the whole family to kick off the fall season with free carnival games, trick-or-treating, a hot-air balloon glow, live musical performances by local bands, a beer garden, food trucks, arts and crafts, jumping castles, local vendors, a bonfire and a BBQ competition. You can even pick out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. More details here.

#5 Pumpkin Palooza Painting Party
When: October 20, 2018 from 1PM – 4PM
Color Me Mine is teaming up with Museum of Boulder to host a Pumpkin Palooza Painting Party. Several varieties of ceramic pumpkins will be available to choose from… like a real pumpkin patch! Cost includes ceramic, plus all supplies, paints, glazing, and firing. 25% of all profits go back to the museum.
The Museum of Boulder is located at 2205 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80302. Price will range based on pumpkin size ($25-$45).
#6 Halloween with Horses
When: October 20, 2018, from 1 PM – 4 PM
Join Body N Soul for a family farm day at Halloween with Horses. Kids will have the chance to participate in pony rides, crafts, pony dress up, raffle, photo ops, a cash concession stand, and a jumping exhibition. Kids are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes and to come ready to have some fun!
Body N Soul is located at 4157 1/2 Nelson Road, Longmont, Colorado 80503. Admission is free however donations are greatly appreciated. All donations will benefit Nature Heals’ scholarships program, which ensures that individuals can achieve affordable nature-based therapy.
#7 Meet the Spirits at Boulder’s Columbia Cemetary
When: Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 12 PM – 5 PM
Eben G. Fine, Mary Rippon, Tom Horn, and Rocky Mountain Joe are just a few of the historical characters that will come to life, as you wander through Columbia Cemetery, a National Register of Historic Places treasure and local landmark.
Join in the Halloween spirit with vintage hearses, mourners in period costumes, live music, a children’s cemetery scavenger hunt, and a burial re-enactment. Discover facts about Columbia Cemetery, meet local history authors, visit with psychics, learn about green burials and much more at Meet the Spirits.

#8 Halloween Kids Arts & Crafts Event
When: Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 3 PM – 5 PM
On October 21st, your children and families are invited to gather at Bittersweet Cafe for an exciting Halloween arts & crafts event. With the help of co-host Strange Bird Designs, kids will enjoy making stain-glass window decorations to take home or display for the world to see in Bittersweet’s front window.

#9 Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch
When: Throughout October

#10 Halloween Carnival
When: Friday, October 26, 2018, from 3 PM – 5 PM
Join the City of Boulder for a community-wide, family-friendly, Halloween Carnival! Activities include carnival games, crafts, bouncy castle, face paint and more! Don’t forget to wear your costume. Best for ages 3 to 8, but all ages welcome. $5 per child. Under 3 and adults are free. For more details, click here.
The Halloween Carnival will be held at the South Boulder Rec Center, 1360 Gillaspie Dr, Boulder, CO 80305. Tickets are $5/child.
#11 WOW!’s Halloween Party
When: Friday, October 26, 2018, from 3 PM – 5 PM
WOW! is throwing a Halloween Party and you’re invited! Come dressed in costume and enjoy ghostly crafts, spooky science experiments, ghoulish games, tasty treats provided by Happy Family, magical giveaways, playtime, and more! Boxed dinners are available for purchase in advance with your ticket. Boxed dinners include a sub sandwich, chips, pickle, cookie, and drink.
#12 Spooky Village at Village at the Peaks
When: Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 1PM – 3PM
Spooky Village is a FREE family fun festival is a Halloween event complete with trick or treating at Village at the Peaks. This year’s free activities include: hay rides, craft stations, face painting, balloon twisting
goblin train rides, portrait stations, unicorn carousel, live entertainment, trick-or-treat bag giveaway and meet
Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Bring the dog to Chuck and Don’s annual Halloween pet parade and photo booth station!
Village at the Peaks is located at 1250 South Hover Road, Longmont, CO 80501. This event is FREE.
#13 Boo! on Briggs Street
When: Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 4 PM – 7 PM
The Town of Erie’s Trunk or Treat event has moved downtown and expanded, bring you Boo! on Briggs Street. Trunks will be parked in the parking lots on the southeast corner of Wells and Briggs and the northeast corner of Moffat and Briggs in Erie. Boo! on Briggs Street will feature costume contests (ages 0-8, 9+ ($5) and group/theme ($10). The night will be capped off with a glow-in-the-dark dance party complete with a professional DJ and complimentary glow-in-the-dark giveaways for the kids.
This event is held in Downtown Erie, Briggs Street between Moffat and Wells, Erie, CO 80516. This event is FREE.
#14 Halloween Parade and Trick or Treat Street
When: Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10AM
Dress up in your Halloween Costume, for Longmont’s Halloween Parade on Main Street and visit Downtown participating merchants for Trick or Treat Street immediately following the parade. Kids of all ages can be a part of this costume foot parade. No registration is required! Strollers or wagons are recommended for tiny feet; no motorized vehicles or large animals. Dogs must be leashed. 9:30AM: Line-up in front of the St. Vrain Memorial Building.10AM: Foot Parade Start. Come in costume. Route will be lengthy; wagons and strollers recommended. #15 Broomfield Spooktacular
When: Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 11AM – 2PM
You’ll have a hauntingly good time at the Broomfield Recreation Services’ Annual Spooktacular. Come dressed in costume and bring a bag for your goodies. The event will feature carnival games, jumping castles, wagon rides, crafts, entertainment and don’t miss out on the “treat or suite-ing”. Spooktacular is guaranteed to be a treat for kids of all ages!
#16 Halloween Tea Party at The Huckleberry
When: Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 3 PM – 5 PM
The Huckleberry is hosting a Halloween Children’s Tea Party on October 27 from 3:00 – 5:00. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 303-666-8020.

#17 Monster Dash 5K, 10K & Kids Races
When: Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 1PM – 6PM
Check out Louisville’s Halloween race — Monster Dash! Throw on your costume and get ready to run. There will be 2 distance choices, the 5k “Fun Run” is for the entire family to run together (Ages 5 and up)…strollers allowed. The 10k Race is for the bit more serious runners going for a place in their age divisions. Immediately following the 5k and 10k, there will be 3 different races for the “Little Zombies” ranging from 1/4 mile to 1 full mile. Kids receive custom kids bib, glow stick, meal, milk/drink, kids candy, finisher medal and cool finisher gift. Post-event activities include a costume contest, trick or treating for kids as well as a party where adults will receive one free beer from Avery and kids receive free juice or soda. #18 Lafayette Fall Festival
When: Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 3:30PM – 5:30PM
The Lafayette Fall Festival combines three community events into one! The festival includes a bounce house & pumpkin decorating contest. The Great Pumpkin Race will be held, launch your pumpkin into the rec center’s lazy river and watch it race to the finish! For more information on the event, click here.

#19 Boulder Halloween ShredFest
When: Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 4 PM – 6 PM
Shredder Ski will be hosting a ShredFest Open House – this will be a Halloween-themed event, so feel free to bring the kiddos in their costumes! Shredder will have merchandise, giveaways, and fun events for both parents and kids – along with incredible raffles with awesome gear! Short demos on each half hour, along with opportunities to try on gear, play in the playroom, and go sledding.

#20 Halloween Party at Moxie Bread Co

#21 Munchkin Masquerade
When: Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 3PM – 6PM
Each year, Downtown Boulder is invaded by thousands of tiny ghosts & goblins, dinosaurs & dragons, fairies & princes, superheroes and animals of every size trick-or-treating along Pearl Street for the Munchkin Masquerade. There will be over 100 places handing out treats along the Pearl Street Mall.
